This means that “natural” ventilation is severely restricted. The adequate supply of fresh air serves on the one hand to improve living comfort and on the other hand to prevent mold and thus to protect the building and the residents. In the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEv) requirements for the “air exchange” were defined which determine the necessary air circulation, in addition to ventilation by open windows. The challenge for the planners and architects to adhere to these requirements by planning proper controlled ventilation. In addition to a mechanical ventilation, the goal should be to provide some form of heat recovery, where possible.
Systems with heat recovery options tend to use the same principle:
A rotating fan inside the ventilation system transport used air from the inside to the outside. While flowing through the system, the used warm air transfers some of its energy to a ceramic heat exchanger, capturing the heat. After a set time intervall, the fan changes rotation direction to transport colder, fresh air from the outside, through the heat exchanger into the room. The heat exchanger transfers the heat to the air, providing for a simple, but sophisticated way of reusing the energy put into heating the room. This method uses siginificantly less energy than opening the windows, while offering for a controlled and higher air exchange.

In addition to typical individual room ventilation, the intelligent and sophisticated control system includes numerous combination options for cross-room ventilation concepts for controlled living space ventilation, office ventilation, ventilation for medical centers, schools, kindergartens, etc.

As a result, you save valuable primary energy with a heat recovery device (energy efficiency class A) and avoid unnecessary ventilation heat losses, which has a lasting positive effect on the energy balance of your property in the form of lower energy costs. The heat recovery units are frost-proof in winter operation even at low outside temperatures. The particularly high level of heat recovery also makes the devices very comfortable. With an outside temperature of 0 ° C, the supply air temperature is up to + 17 ° C. Additional post-conditioning of the outside air is therefore no longer necessary.
Despite an ideal dehumidification performance, the systems do not dry out your living spaces. This gives you the healthy living you need and also protects valuable furniture and wooden floors. During the summer months, the heat exchanger can be deactivated via cross ventilation in order to supply cool night air to the living areas.
